Why Choose Organic Skincare?

Now I’m not some hippy that thinks we all need to live out in the scrub in a shack as an experiment to see who can survive, although some days that seems rather tempting.

I do think that we need to ask the question… Why do people continue to freely poison themselves?

I see it all the time, people pushing trolleys brimming with toxic chemicals. Pre-packaged food that is full of preservatives, chemical filled cleaning products, so called ‘fresh’ fruit and veges coated in pesticides, chemical filled personal care products, meat that has a chemical added to give it that ‘red’ look. Australia imports millions of products from overseas which contain chemicals that have been banned for use here in Australia, but yet  the government allows these imports to come in, be put on supermarket shelves and bought by the unknowing public.

Consumers need to start to educate themselves to read labels; we should have the right to know where our goods that we purchase come from and what precisely is in it. I know people are time poor and want to get in and out of the supermarket quickly, but that is no bloody excuse not to read what you are taking home to your family to consume or apply to their body.

Let me tell you that some items you purchase, you may as well buy POISON from the hardware, go home and spray the whole family in it, because you are slowly poisoning your bodies by putting toxic chemicals into it.

I have educated myself over the years about what goes into and onto my body and my family’s body by researching ingredients on labels. If you read a label and you don’t know what ingredient it is, or have never heard of it, google it and you will be shocked. If you can’t pronounce an ingredient on a label or you see numbers….put it down and back away!!!

I have been saying for years that children in all schools need to be growing a vege garden, so they can see where their vegetables and fruit come from and know how to grow them at home without the use of chemicals.

I hear people say a lot that natural and organic items are too expensive, what a load of sh#t! I notice people don’t hesitate to spend hundreds of dollars when purchasing  clothing, perfume, handbags, shoes, alcohol the list goes on…..but when it comes to purchasing items that go into your body, well that’s a whole different story.

People also comment that natural and organic skincare doesn’t have that ‘pretty’ smell….DUH!!! That is because it is made from plants, not from man-made synthetic ingredients produced in a lab. If you want a product that smells like a fairy farted honeysuckle, then you definitely need to educate yourself about what you are applying to your skin and hair. Natural and organic skincare should not contain chemicals ,artificial fragrances or additives. It will have a nice smell which will be from the pure essential oils that are used to add fragrance and the health benefits associated with the oils.

Also I would like to bring to your attention to read labels on natural and organic products as some of these ‘so called’ products do contain synthetic ingredients, so it can be quite misleading. I will point out that Positively Organic Skincare does NOT contain any synthetic ingredients, we follow the guidelines that the ACO (Australian Certified Organic) board endorses, but being a small family owned business, the cost to certify our products are currently not viable for us at this point in time.

If you have taken the time to read this blog than I hope you take the time to read labels and educate yourself and your family about the importance of knowing what goes into their body, for the sake of your health and wellbeing.

I also urge you  to read the book ‘Hungry For Change’,it is a straight to the point, no bullsh#t read about how government policy, big business marketing and global economics influence what we put into our bodies. It is about real people, how their health suffered and what they did to change their life. It is an eye opener and goes to show that we are just like puppets on a string who are basically brainwashed by massive companies to buy their products.

So make the change to rid your house of chemical filled products, plant a small vege patch and pop some fruit trees in. Don’t give me that crap excuse ‘We don’t have the room!’ You can grow fruit and veges in pots on a tiny patio if need be. Get out there with your children and educate them in the process about where their food comes from, it definitely should not come from a plastic packet or a whole in the wall!

Slowly make the change and feel the accomplishment of contributing to a better life for yourself and your family.....It’s never too late.
